CAMP PRIDE

CAMP PRIDE 𖦹

Camp Pride is a multi-day, 21+ celebration of queer joy, healing, and community held at Sky Camp Oregon in Fall Creek, OR. Designed as a sanctuary in nature, the gathering weaves together art, wellness, and play to offer a grounding alternative to traditional Pride programming. For this installment, NOIR AT NITE curated Friday night’s musical programming, bringing live performances from K. Sole, NYALLAH, and ByHaze into an immersive forest setting under the stars.

This collaboration came through an invitation rooted in mutual respect and shared values, with Camp Pride still in its early stages and operating with a limited but intentional budget. The challenge was to thoughtfully align on scope, compensation, and creative vision while supporting a grassroots, volunteer-driven team committed to equity, financial transparency, and access. It was also essential to center and uplift Black LGBTQ+ representation within the programming, ensuring the curation reflected the full spectrum of identities within the community.

THE CHALLENGE

WHAT I DID

𖦹

WHAT I DID 𖦹

I curated the Friday night lineup, selecting artists whose work aligned with the emotional, atmospheric, and intentional nature of the space. I helped shape the flow of the evening to feel intimate and immersive, ensuring the performances complemented the natural surroundings and overall ethos of Camp Pride. I also collaborated with the broader Camp Pride team to align on programming needs, artist logistics, and audience experience, contributing to an environment that felt both grounded and expansive.

THE IMPACT

The evening offered attendees a deeply immersive experience, bringing together music, nature, and community in a way that felt restorative and affirming. As part of Camp Pride, NOIR AT NITE’s programming contributed to a larger ecosystem centered on queer and trans joy, healing, and connection, while supporting a model rooted in accessibility, mutual aid, and community care. The collaboration also strengthened relationships with emerging grassroots organizers, expanding NOIR AT NITE’s presence into intentional, land-based spaces.
