River Solstice Festival was the inaugural edition of a free, public arts gathering celebrating the Los Angeles River as a place where art, nature, and community meet. Held at Lewis MacAdams Riverfront Park in Frogtown on the summer solstice, the festival brought together live music, site-specific art, performances, food, and community programming, with musical programming developed in collaboration with Living Earth and performances by Mary Lattimore, San Cha, Bob Baker Marionette Theater, and Calycosa. Curated by Ryan Noon and presented by LA River Arts, the festival brought artists, environmental organizations, local businesses, neighborhood partners, and Angelenos together for an afternoon of collective gathering along the river.
The challenge was to transform a public park along the LA River into a cohesive, accessible festival environment while coordinating the needs of artists, vendors, community partners, public agencies, and production teams. With the event being free and open to the public, the production also required thoughtful systems for managing site logistics, accessibility, safety, and a wide range of stakeholders.

As Festival Production Manager / Special Projects Coordinator, I supported the festival from planning through execution, serving as a central liaison between LA River Arts, artists, vendors, partners, and production teams. I coordinated artist and vendor logistics, permits and site requirements, schedules and run of show, staffing and volunteer systems, rentals, access, load-in/load-out, and day-of operations. In collaboration with Living Earth, I helped develop and coordinate the festival’s musical programming, bringing together a diverse roster of artists and integrating their needs into the larger festival infrastructure. I also sourced, booked, and coordinated the festival’s food and beverage vendors through my existing network of local businesses and cultural partners, helping build a vendor lineup that complimented the festival’s community-centered ethos. Working through NOIR STUDIOS, I helped build the systems that allowed a wide range of creative and community partners to operate within one cohesive festival experience.
THE IMPACT
River Solstice Festival welcomed hundreds of Angelenos into a free, multidisciplinary celebration of the LA River, connecting audiences with artists, environmental organizations, local vendors, and community initiatives. The festival strengthened relationships across the cultural, environmental, and neighborhood ecosystems surrounding the river while expanding NOIR STUDIOS' role in producing public-facing cultural programming. The event received coverage from ABC7, KCRW, and the Los Angeles Times, extending the festival's reach beyond the park and highlighting the growing cultural movement around the LA River.
