The Glow Up was the inaugural flagship event for the Refinery29 Unbothered franchise, celebrating its five-year anniversary by bringing the digital brand to life. Held over Juneteenth weekend in Atlanta, the two-day micro festival welcomed over 3,000 attendees to experience the world of Unbothered through talent-driven programming, creator-made installations, and live entertainment. The event was a joyful celebration of Black culture, highlighting Unbothered’s impact on its loyal audience both old and new.
Launching the first-ever festival for Unbothered in a new market meant carefully managing multiple teams, talent, and brand sponsors to create a cohesive, memorable experience for nearly 3,000 attendees while maintaining the essence of the Unbothered brand.

I collaborated with the Senior Creative to curate 26 unique programs, featuring 40 artists and talent, while overseeing A&R, VIP partnerships, and brand collaborations. I served as the primary talent liaison, ensuring seamless communication between talent, editorial, and production teams. My role also included leading talent sourcing and scope drafting, program brainstorming, and scriptwriting, while managing deliverables for brand sponsors and maintaining strong relationships across teams.
