LIVING EARTH 𖦹 NYALLAH + FRIENDS

In collaboration with Living Earth, NYALLAH + Friends was an outdoor gathering held at the Audubon Center at Debs Park, blending live music, community care, and environmental connection. Set beneath the park’s peppercorn tree, the afternoon featured a live ensemble curated by NYALLAH, including performances with The Growth Eternal, James Barmore, Harriet Brown, Annabelle Freedman, and more. Rooted in the spirit of accessibility and collective healing, the all-ages, donation-based event invited guests to experience music in dialogue with land, culture, and community.

The challenge was to create a live music experience that honored the ecological and cultural significance of the space while fostering an intentional, community-centered environment that felt both grounded and expansive.

THE CHALLENGE

WHAT I DID

𖦹

WHAT I DID 𖦹

I curated and assembled a multi-artist ensemble, bringing together collaborators whose work reflects a shared commitment to experimentation, community, and storytelling. In partnership with Living Earth, I helped shape the flow of the afternoon to feel organic and welcoming—balancing performance with moments of rest, connection, and presence on the land. I also supported community messaging around accessibility, donation-based entry, and mutual aid efforts, ensuring the event extended beyond performance into care and resource sharing.

THE IMPACT

The gathering brought together a diverse, intergenerational audience for an afternoon rooted in music, land, and collective care. In collaboration with Living Earth, the event deepened relationships between artists, organizers, and local community members while reinforcing the Audubon Center’s mission of building inclusive connections to nature. Proceeds from the event supported Black and Brown families impacted by the Eaton Fire, extending the impact beyond the space itself and into direct community support.
